Hadley's Housing and Economic Development Committee scheduled an Urban3 presentation and added fiber to its February agenda. A member said the Smart Growth 40R proposal missed the spring town meeting but remained possible for fall 2026 after a Pioneer Valley Planning Commission staff departure. Bill, who gave the Planning Board update, reported four combined-use solar fields processed in December, a Bank of America branch hearing and a lapsed special permit at Old Bay Road and Route 9.
The fiber committee chair said a town network would be "a five to seven year process" with speeds three to four times faster than current service. The committee took no votes except adjournment.
