Hadley library trustees formed a development committee and voted to seek a state trademark for the library's logo. Secretary Jo-Ann Konieczny and Trustee Julie Rose were elected as trustee representatives to the new committee, which aims to build an endowment with an initial goal of $2 million. Trustee Julie Rose separately presented research showing a state trademark costs $50 through the Secretary of the Commonwealth, calling it "an element of protection" for the library's asparagus logo, already used on Friends of the Library merchandise.
Library Director Patrick reported a town-hired roofer concluded the library roof cannot be repaired and must be replaced, but said follow-up letters to Select Board Chair Amy Parsons had gone unanswered. Both the trademark application and the development committee formation passed unanimously.
