Board defers tax rate vote to November 4
Hadley Select Board deferred a tax rate decision to November 4 after members flagged unanswered assessor questions.
Select Board · Meeting of October 29, 2026
Hadley Select Board deferred a tax rate decision to November 4 after members flagged unanswered assessor questions. Meeting with only three of five members, Chair Amy Parsons, member Jason Kostek and remote member Randall Izer approved five employee appointments, including new hires Haley Moriarty and Kayla Warwick, and accepted sewer operator Joseph Holmes's resignation, all by 3-0 roll call votes. Kostek said "there was a lot of questions from the Finance Committee and not a similar amount of answers from the assessor," and later said being "rushed to make a vote" the same night an assessor presents is "not a great look." Parsons said the board hopes to vote on tax rates November 4 but may need an added meeting if questions remain unresolved before the town's year-end tax recap deadline.
