Hadley's Select Board closed a 25-article warrant for an Oct. 22 special town meeting and appointed Luke Wisniewski to the Hadley Housing Authority. The board, David J. Fill II, Randall Izer, Molly Keegan, Jason Kostek and Chair Amy Parsons, unanimously approved a consent agenda including a three-year HVAC contract for the Council on Aging and a one-day liquor license with a fire watch condition.
The acting fire chief introduced three new firefighter EMTs, Adrian Maldonado, Devin Gadu and Daniel Hammond, and detailed a new dispatch policy ending automatic fire response to routine medical, mental-health and minor crash calls, to be reviewed in 60 days. Resident Jessica Kim of 35 West Street asked the board to reconsider the town's flock camera program, saying "I'm not convinced that a flock camera makes us safer." The warrant, to be reviewed at a 6 p.m. Oct. 14 pre-forum vote, includes roughly $9 million in water tank project costs, $750,000 in sewer borrowing and three Community Preservation Act articles.
