At the June 12 meeting, Health Director Ben announced the department will begin using Wim-Wham, a cloud-based inspection platform already in use by the regional health collaborative and neighboring communities including Northampton, with a tablet device expected that week and existing paper records to be entered into the system over coming months — at no additional cost to the town, as the collaborative is covering the Wim-Wham subscription while Hadley continues to pay for its existing Permit Link permitting software. Ben also told the board that no residents of the Greenleaves housing complex have returned following a sewage backup, with remediation contractor ServPro actively removing damaged walls and flooring, and that re-occupancy will require sign-off from fire, building, and health officials. A clarification was issued on the status of public health nurse Marcy, who is not leaving the town but will shift from 6.5 hours weekly to 7 hours every other Tuesday beginning July 1. Ben flagged budget uncertainty tied to a pending Proposition 2½ override vote, noting the town has engaged a public relations professional to educate residents on fiscal consequences either way.
