Hadley Board of Health Reports Tapestry Contract Nearing Completion, All Food Permits Cleared

HADLEY — April 10, 2025 — Hadley Board of Health reports all food establishments are permitted and a behavioral health contract with Tapestry Health is close to being signed. At the April 10 meeting, Health Director Ben told the board that the Select Board-funded Tapestry contract has not yet been returned signed but that remaining logistics — including physical space for services, a daily liaison, and a public communications plan — are being worked through, with one board member urging the town to model its rollout messaging on neighboring communities such as Northampton and Amherst. Peter reported that every food establishment in Hadley is now permitted for the season, with one business having paid a $100 penalty for late compliance — a clean sweep Peter called unprecedented in his experience. The health director also confirmed that three residential trash haulers have agreed to seek required town permits, with a fourth still being contacted, and that the board is requiring haulers to document their disposal sites for DEP license verification. Town Meeting is set for May 1.
