Board OKs Combined Treasurer-Collector Hire
Hadley's Select Board voted 5-0 to hire a combined assistant treasurer-collector as both finance offices lose veteran staff.
Select Board · Meeting of August 26, 2026
Hadley's Select Board voted 5-0 to hire a combined assistant treasurer-collector as both finance offices lose veteran staff. Town Administrator Nate Malloy and Assistant Town Administrator Jennifer Sanders James will handle the hire after Collector Susan said she plans to retire in January and former Treasurer Linda Sanderson warned against overloading the new treasurer, saying "how many cuts are you going to do in town hall and just assume everybody else will fill in?" Member Molly Keegan had asked whether merging the offices would "make things crazier than they currently are." The board also voted 5-0 to shift $62,640 in existing salary funds to hire a full-time building commissioner immediately rather than wait for fall Town Meeting, and voted 5-0 to accept the resignation of part-time police officer Nathan Rabideau, effective Aug. 24.
