Hadley Select Board Appoints Veteran Inspector as Temporary Building Commissioner

HADLEY — April 3, 2026 — Hadley Select Board fills building commissioner vacancy with temporary part-time appointment. The board voted 4-0 on April 3 to appoint David Wiskevitz, a 23-year veteran building official with the city of Amherst and part-time inspector for the town of Pelham, to serve as Hadley's temporary part-time building commissioner. Acting Chair Molly Keegan framed the appointment as a bridge measure, saying the board hoped Wiskevitz could carry the town "over this period where you may be looking for somebody a little more full-time." Member David Phil moved the appointment, saying he appreciated Wiskevitz "helping us out in this jam that we're in." All four members present — Keegan, Phil, Jane Nebensmith, and Amy Parsons — voted yes. No compensation figures or search timeline for a permanent replacement were discussed on the record.
