HADLEY — The Hadley Select Board voted to use a roughly $3,000 anonymous donation to hire an insurance broker. Assistant Town Administrator Jennifer Sanders James said health insurance is "probably one of the biggest expenses for the town" and that employee satisfaction with current coverage "is not great." Member Randall Izer moved the spending, seconded by Molly Keegan, and it passed without recorded opposition. The town must notify its current insurer by December if it switches carriers.

Separately, the board heard that state Representative Gomez secured $145,000 for Route 9 signage and accessibility work, and Town Administrator Nate outlined plans to bring a Route 47 bridge grant request, needing a local match of $200,000 to $1 million, to a fall Town Meeting. The board closed by voting 4-0 to enter executive session on negotiations with the acting fire chief and the finance director/treasurer.
