Select Board · Meeting of August 5, 2026
Hadley's Select Board set an Oct. 22 special Town Meeting and hired two full-time police officers to fill long-standing vacancies. The board unanimously appointed Amanda LeBlanc, a town dispatcher since 2024, and a second recruit, pending academy completion and an effective start date of Sept. 21; the chief said that "replacing an officer takes quite a long time" and that neither hire would be fully effective for about a year. Members also approved a corporate restructuring of the Whole Foods Market Group liquor license, amended an Oktoberfest one-day license to add a fenced 18-plus section, and signed the warrant for the Sept. 1 state primary.
The administrator reported the town is advancing talks on a solar array on its capped landfill with developer Solek Energy and the nonprofit Power Options, and that the Route 47 Port River Bridge project remains on schedule for 2028 completion. The board closed by voting 5-0 to enter executive session on non-union personnel negotiations.
