HADLEY — The Hadley Climate Change Committee approved a composting flyer and opened a search for a seventh member on April 9. Only three of the panel's six seated members, Kathy Nelson, Marian Parker and Catalina Arrubla, attended, alongside prospective member Steve Kelly. The group has roughly $5,000 in uncommitted recycling grant money left after setting aside about $1,300 for compost bins, $1,000 for a paper shredding event and $450 for Household Hazardous Waste Day, and tabled a decision on spending it until next month.
Nelson said the committee has been "struggling with us being down one member and having a quorum." The panel also previewed an April 25 Spring Cleanup, with 13 people signed up so far versus 37 last year, and a May 2 paper shredding event.
