HADLEY — The Climate Change Committee began planning a Hadley river cleanup after a Connecticut River Conservancy presentation. Stacy Leonard, Source to Sea Cleanup coordinator, said volunteers collected 35.74 tons of trash across four states in 2025, but no Hadley groups registered. The committee discussed scouting local sites and recruiting group leaders from churches, school clubs and sports teams.
A fourth-grade Girl Scout troop also asked for ideas on a community project, and members pointed to school food waste composting. Members reviewed a draft flyer on composting options, with Beyond Plastics expected next month.
